Canadian Dental Care PlanAccepted Here.

Hunt Dentistry is proud to accept the CDCP, helping eligible Brampton residents access the dental care they deserve. Dr. Madhavi Tripathi and our team direct-bill the government so you can focus on your health, not the cost.

What is the CanadianDental Care Plan?

The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is a federal government program launched to provide dental coverage to uninsured Canadians who cannot afford private dental insurance. The program is administered by Sun Life Financial in partnership with Health Canada and covers millions of eligible Canadians across every province and territory, including Brampton families who have gone without dental care due to cost.

Eligibility is based on income. Canadian residents with an adjusted net family income under $70,000 typically qualify for 100% coverage on eligible services. Those earning between $70,000 and $89,999 receive 60% to 80% coverage. Patients must not hold any current private dental insurance and must carry a valid provincial or territorial health card. Children under 18 in qualifying households are covered. Seniors 70 and older have accelerated enrollment access.

The CDCP covers a wide range of dental services: preventive care (exams, cleanings, fluoride), diagnostic imaging (X-rays), restorative procedures (fillings, crowns), endodontic treatment (root canals), periodontal therapy (scaling and root planing for gum disease), and prosthodontic services (dentures) are all included under covered benefit categories. Exact coverage depends on your income bracket and the benefit period.

At Hunt Dentistry in Brampton, Dr. Madhavi Tripathi and our team have helped many local patients understand and access their CDCP benefits. We handle the direct billing so you never need to submit a claim yourself. Our front desk team can verify your coverage status before your appointment to confirm exactly what is included.

How to Use Your CDCPat Hunt Dentistry

Getting started with your CDCP benefits at our Brampton clinic takes four steps. We make the process as straightforward as possible, and our front desk handles all the billing.

01

Check Your Eligibility

Visit canada.ca/dental or call Service Canada at 1-833-537-4342. Confirm your income qualifies (under $90,000 net family income) and that you hold a valid provincial health card with no current private dental insurance.

02

Register for the CDCP

Apply through My Service Canada Account or by phone. You'll receive a CDCP member card once approved. The registration process typically takes 1 to 2 weeks. Keep your member card number handy when booking.

03

Book at Hunt Dentistry

Call our Brampton office at (905) 456-3755 or book online. Let us know you're a CDCP patient. Our team will verify your CDCP status before your appointment so everything is confirmed before you arrive.

04

We Handle the Billing

Hunt Dentistry direct-bills the federal government on your behalf. For covered services, you pay nothing at the appointment. Our patient coordinator will walk you through any services that fall outside CDCP coverage before we proceed.

"In my practice, the CDCP has made a real difference for families who have been avoiding necessary dental care due to cost. Many Brampton patients didn't realize they qualified until they booked with us. If you have been putting off a cleaning or a filling because of the expense, check your eligibility. The program is broader than most people expect, and we will help you get the most out of your benefits."
