Natural-Looking Restorations Built to Last

Crowns and bridges are two of the most reliable and widely used restorations in dentistry. A crown covers and protects a damaged tooth; a bridge replaces a missing tooth by spanning the gap between two crowns placed on the adjacent teeth. Both are custom-fabricated from porcelain or zirconia and are virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth.

When You Need a Crown

A dental crown is recommended when a tooth is too damaged to be repaired with a filling — for example, after a large cavity, a crack, a root canal, or a broken cusp. Crowns are also used to protect teeth that are severely worn down or to cover dental implants. The crown encases the entire visible portion of the tooth, restoring its shape, size, strength, and appearance.

How Bridges Work

A dental bridge literally bridges the gap of a missing tooth. The two teeth on either side of the gap are prepared as crowns (abutments), and a false tooth (pontic) is suspended between them. The bridge is cemented in place permanently. Unlike a denture, a bridge doesn't come out and requires no adhesive.

The Crown or Bridge Procedure

Crown and bridge placement typically requires two appointments. At the first, we prepare the tooth or teeth, take precise impressions, and place a temporary restoration. At the second — usually 2 weeks later — we cement your final, lab-fabricated crown or bridge and adjust the bite to perfection.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do crowns and bridges last?

With good oral hygiene and regular checkups, porcelain crowns and bridges typically last 10–15 years. Zirconia restorations can last longer.

Will my crown look natural?

Yes — our crowns are crafted by skilled dental technicians to match the shape, colour, and translucency of your natural teeth. In most cases, no one will be able to tell the difference.

Does getting a crown hurt?

The tooth preparation is done under local anaesthesia. Some sensitivity around the prepared tooth is normal between appointments but temporary.
